About Event
During this difficult and uncertain time, we are thinking of you, your families and your businesses and recognize the impact this has on you.
As much as we love gathering community members to "shine a light" on Shine On and Garments of Grace each year, we are committed to keeping our community safe by following the recommendations of the CDC and our community leaders.
Instead of our planned event at Fireman’s Park, we invite you to participate in a VIRTUAL 5K, Walk & Talk 2M or Fun Run, so we can still run “together” for a great cause.
How do you do a virtual 5K?
Take a friend or family member with you and
run or walk the Spivey Hill Challenge in your neighborhood, a local park, or
even on the treadmill. What better way to practice social distancing
with PURPOSE and FUN?
So what does this mean for 5K participants?
1) All current
registrants will be transferred to a virtual registration, and will have the
option to pick up your t-shirt and swag bag or receive it in the mail.
2) If you haven't registered yet, registration is still open and active! Get out of the house, get some fresh air and exercise, and support Shine On and Garments of Grace with hundreds across our community.
Whatever you do, please adhere to all CDC and community guidelines on social distancing protocols, quarantine restrictions, and other medical safety procedures. We will continue watching the evolving events and listening to advice of experts to ensure the safety of participants, and we hope you do the same.
You can still LIGHT UP THE DARK from your home!

- All proceeds from this year’s Spivey Hill Challenge will be divided between Shine On and Garments of Grace. Shine On is a charity dedicated to serving the women of Young and Jack Counties who have been victims of domestic violence, homelessness, addiction rehabilitation, and are in need of temporary housing. Shine On’s mission is to provide a Christ-based atmosphere and a safe environment to enable healing, restoration, and a transition back into the community. Garments of Grace, a charity that is near and dear to the Street family’s hearts, provides brand-new clothing with the tags still attached for a “shopping” environment to needy children in Graham.
We were able to donate $7000 to each Shine On and Garments of Grace
In Honor of Bill Spivey and Spencer Street III
