Jamie was the spark that ignited what we all know today as The Spivey Hill Challenge!  Her dream to extend her love for running to a local race that would bring our community together and raise funds for very deserving local charities has been growing every year and going strong since 2015.

Jamie fought long and hard against a cancer diagnosis.  Her illness became her second marathon, uphill most of the way.  She never gave up.  On July 14, 2023 she sailed through the finish line.  Jamie exemplified the spirit of  the race by battling through the disease and what it was doing to her body, while enduring difficult treatments. She continued to work, every day, at her dental practice, giving her patients 100%.  Jamie inspired all of us and has left a legacy of great strength and determination, qualities evident in the Spivey Hill Challenge 5K.

In Honor of Spencer Street III

Spencer was a vital part of the race as a founding board member since the start. His life and his legacy inspires us all to want to be the best that we can be, to love our families more than anything, and to serve our community simply because we want to make it the best place on earth.

Everything he did was with love and joy and passion.  He had a way of making everyone feel special. We will always remember his booming voice and his constant and contagious smile.

We all miss him so much.

In Honor of Bill Spivey

With the encouraging support of his loving wife, Billie, Bill Spivey made substantial contributions to the Graham, Texas landscape. Many of Graham’s landmarks, such as Dairy King, the baseball parks and the Spivey Hill housing addition, would not be here today if it weren’t for his vision and dedication to making this town the best that it can be. Bill Spivey was a long time Graham resident. He passed away in 2014.

We honor his hard work and big dreams by holding this event in the heart of the area he developed. By including “Spivey Hill” in this 5K, this race becomes more of a challenge and you will have earned bragging rights after you complete it!

All proceeds from this year’s Spivey Hill Challenge will be divided between Shine On and Garments of Grace.

Shine On is a charity dedicated to serving those in Young and Jack Counties who have been victims of domestic violence, homelessness, addiction rehabilitation, and are in need of help. Shine On’s mission is to provide a Christ-based atmosphere and a safe environment to enable healing, restoration, and a transition back into the community.

Garments of Grace, a charity that is near and dear to the Street family’s hearts, provides brand-new clothing with the tags still attached for a “shopping” environment to needy children in Graham.
